Spring Cleaning:

Today, I'm starting to work in some spring cleaning chores along with my regular cleaning. I polished two silver bowls and two silver candlesticks. I make a quick run through the house to sweep away any cobwebs. I thinned out a aloe vera plant that had grown too big for its pot. And, I hit the self cleaning button on my oven.

That doesn't sound like a lot, but I feel like I'm on my way to a house that's spick and span. Usually when I start a deep cleaning plan, my life automatically fills up with unexpected things. But, I am deterimed to persevere bit by bit until I've given the whole place a once over.

I also need to do a little inside painting, so I'm pondering decisions about paint colors.

Woohoo--a spring cleaning buddy:) I have started too. You are so lucky to have an aloe vera plant--I would love to have one.

Have a great day, Elizabeth.

There's nothing like the feel of a house that's had a thorough spring cleaning, is there?

Aloe vera plants are handy to have around. I'm sure you know that if you cut open a leaf and rub the juice on a burn, it will feel better and heal more quickly. If you buy a tiny aloe vera plant for just a few bucks, it will multiply and multiply.

I love deep cleaning. I vacuumed under my bed which had been missed for a while, I felt so clean and fresh inside just for doing that :)

Are the flowers inspiration for you colour scheme?

Thanks for the gentle kick in the keister - I really need to get some deep cleaning done around here!!

I do love my aloe plant - I've had it for over 8 years now, and give away at least half of it every other year. It's truly the gift that keeps giving :)

Hi Sarah and Trish-D --

Isn't it fun to think we're all spring cleaning at the same time.

Sarah, I always love the colors of flowers, but they're not exactly the inspiration for my color scheme. I"m having an especially hard time selecting a color for my kitchen/gathering room walls, as I have pale cabinets.
