Teaching Children about God's Love

"Little ones should be raised in an atmosphere saturated with God's love. They should be taught from infancy that God cares for them, knows all about them, takes delight in them, and longs to be close to them. Kids must grasp that God is a personal being who will be the closest friend they will ever have. Your children's view of God is the most important lesson you will ever teach them. It shapes their whole view of life and reality.

"How many of us grew up with a negative view of God --- a distant, dismal, impossible-to-please dictator whose frown of disapproval darkened the sunny days of our childhood? Some of us have spent years unlearning the intellectual and emtional view we at one time had of God.

I beg you, don't foist your miseries upon your children. Teach them of the great God of the Bible, the God who made them, sees them, longs to be their Father, and desire to be with them in heaven forever. Teach them of the God who is their shepherd, who knows them by name, who watches over them all of the time. They need to see that God is like Jesus, and that Jesus loved children and always took time to be with them."
